Is MaanKiBaat free?+
Yes. Sign-up, verification, profile creation, daily stack, liking, matching, and messaging are all free. We have a Founder Pass for early supporters but it's optional.
Who is MaanKiBaat for?+
Indian adults (18+) looking for a serious relationship. Whether you're in a metro or a tier-2 city, the app is designed for the realities of dating in India.
What devices is it on?+
Works on any modern phone or laptop in your browser. Native apps are coming.
Verification
How does verification work?+
Every account uploads a selfie + a government photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, passport, or driving license). A human reviewer cross-checks the face with the ID. No verification, no profile visible.
How long does it take?+
Usually under 2 hours during the day, never more than 24 hours. We tell you the moment you're approved.
Is my ID safe?+
Your ID is encrypted at rest, accessible only to the small verification team, and is never shown on your profile. We do not share or sell it. You can request deletion at any time.
Why do you need an ID?+
It's the single biggest defense against fake profiles, catfishing, and harassment. We won't compromise on it — even if it slows growth.
Matching & messaging
What is the daily stack?+
A small curated set of profiles each day — not an infinite swipe feed. Quality over quantity. The first stack lands at 7 AM IST after you finish onboarding.
Can I message before matching?+
No. Both people must like each other before chat opens. We don't sell paid intros.
Can I undo a pass?+
Yes — we give you one undo per day so you don't lose someone over a slip.
Privacy & safety
Do you sell my data?+
No. We don't sell, rent, or share your phone, email, location, photos, messages, or ID with anyone outside MaanKiBaat. Read the privacy policy for the legal version.
Can I block, mute, or report someone?+
Yes — all one tap. Reports are triaged within 24 hours by a real human team.
What about screenshots?+
We discourage them, watermark photos that appear on profile previews, and treat unauthorized sharing as a violation. If someone shares your photos, report them and we will take action.
Founder Pass & pricing
What is Founder Pass?+
Tiered packages our early supporters can buy to fund the launch and unlock perks (badge, leaderboard, free Bestie months, super-likes, etc.). It's a digital-goods purchase — not equity, no dividends, no resale.
Will the app stay free for normal users?+
Core matching will always be free. We may add optional paid features later (more daily picks, advanced filters), but liking and messaging will not be paywalled.
Account
How do I delete my account?+
From profile settings → Delete account. Your data is removed within 30 days. ID documents are deleted immediately.
How do I pause matching?+
Profile → Visibility → Pause discovery. Existing matches still see you; nobody new will.
