Our story
MaanKiBaat started where every dating app should start — frustration. We watched friends spend months on apps full of fake profiles, ghosters, and people clearly not looking for what was advertised. The apps got rich on attention. The users got tired.
We took a different bet: build a smaller, slower, more honest app where every person is verified, every profile is real, and the goal is matching — not maximizing time on screen. If that means fewer daily active users, fine. If it means more deleted accounts because people actually found someone, perfect.
We're Indian. We're building this for India. The prompts, the verification flow, the safety norms, the founder community — all designed for the realities of dating in this country in this decade.

People want partners, not feeds
We optimize for matches that lead off-app, not screen time. We'll happily lose engagement metrics if we're winning real-world relationships.
Verification is non-negotiable
If anyone you swipe might not be real, the whole app is broken. Every account here is identity-verified. No exceptions, no shortcuts.

We're funded by Founder Pass holders — early supporters who get a real say in roadmap. No VC pressure to optimize for engagement metrics.

Hindi prompts. ID-aware verification (Aadhaar, PAN, passport, DL). Tier-2 city support. India is not an afterthought market — it's the only market.
